Do you ever think I would love to “make a wish”, I think many of us do, wish for winning lotto, love or as I do to have a loved one back in our lives even for a day.
Well dreams and wishes do come true sometimes; as many of you know my son Matthew who is 16 has a chronic illness called Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and now diabetes just to add to it all. Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic disease and effects lungs, digestion, sweat glands and means a shorten life span.
His health this year has not been great. We are still waiting on an operation date to help him breathe a bit easier, plus added medication and now two needles of insulin daily.
He has had a lot of challenges in his 16 short years of life, yet he inspires me daily with his attitude to his health and life handling himself way beyond his years.I must say Matthew never complains and say Mum why complain there are kids worse off than me.
If you saw what he had to do daily to keep well it is very heart breaking for a mum to see for their child.
Here is a picture of what Matthew wakes up to daily.
Here are just the tablets he takes everyday, and believe it or not these have been reduced!
The brown capsules (enzymes) are what he has to take when he eats anything at all they help him digest his food. Since being on them this year he has finally grown and put on weight for the first time in over a year.
Matthew was having another round of blood tests and we came home with him not feeling well at all to a wonderful surprise.
All though sometimes he faces hard times, and its not all sunshine and roses, this week my dear son's "Make a wish" was granted. A wonderful foundation that grants a wish for chronically ill children and Matthew wish was for a new computer.
Well it has all the bells and whistles and then some plus a computer desk as well.
The smile on his face is something I will never forget as long as I live, the happiness, shock and tears for Matthew to forget about his illness for a while with this wonderful surprise was unforgettable.
Here he is at his computer, may I add I haven’t seen him for days LOL.
Here is another Pic of My Daughter Nicole and her brother .These two are extremely close (they do fight don’t get me wrong) but that out of the way how truly close they are.
A sibling of a child with a chronic illness do suffer in some degree, the ill child comes first at many times, hospital admissions, appointments. "No we cant do that Matthew is not well". Nicole has never complained I wish sometimes there was something for siblings for their undying love and support. I Love you Nicole you are a very giving, a loving daughter and sister you are amazing beautiful spirit. I'm so proud of both my children make the most of your children and loved ones.

Judy’s class has so inspired me these piece were done before I hurt the back again I still have more to do so Hopeful maybe next week!!
This page is my favorite as my dear sis Linda gave me the glass slide with the velvet pouch it goes in and the silver slide while I was at her place in the states earlier this year. I wondered what on earth was I going to do with it, but it was perfect. The little leather purse I found at an antique shop.
I found an old book at this favorite shop of mine it was from the 18 hundreds and it had pressed flowers in it so of course it was perfect for this theme.

It was a terrific weekend a lot of fun and laughs, being told off for making to much noise in our room and that was all just two country girls Sarah and I LOL.
Judy is truly a very talented and wonderful teacher ,sharing with us; great techniques and allowing us to purchase some of her wonderful antique and vintage goodies.
My theme of my book is Nature a few picture I have used are of Charles Darwin. I haven’t finished yet but here are some pages I have completed. As most of you have noticed my blog has become very Jewelry orientated lately but this book has brought me back to my collage roots.
I will share more of the book as I finish it
My hubby and I took off for a rod run in melbourne the other weekend.
It was our rods first big drive, a real test, 2 and 1/2 hour drive down and we made it. We have no hearing left due to a noisey diff (car talk).
This was us on the way home raining but loving it,believe it or not I didnt get that wet. We had our love (and ten layers )to keep us warm.

I have been pretty quiet in blog land and in the real world as well.
I have re hurt an old back injury so I have been trying to take it easy (Yeah right I’m a mother LOL).
Here is a class I will be teaching in Ballarat in a couple of weeks at The Imagination Factory. A mini bird house it has metal sides that you cant see the rest is paper. I was inspired by Deryn Mentock with the wire and Paper twisting on the bottom of the house.

First lets get down to the etching my passion at the moment LOL This is a little note pad I have just finished.
I etched the top section and thanks to the wonderful stephanine lee's book I made a project something like she had in her book(no Im not getting a commission from this book its just so great thats all.
I then used cooper mesh and wired the bottom bit for a different effect, another amazing tin photo and embellishments and Bob's your uncle so to speak.
Im going to add chain to the top so I can wear it.I also used old leather on the back of the book.
I received this a couple of weeks ago and haven't had the time to do what was required once you received it, but here goes . There is nothing like the warm fuzzy feeling that someone likes what you do and that I do inspire others to create. Thanks

Well as the title says come up to my place and see my etchings, naughty aren’t I.
I did a course last year in Melbourne learning Metal etching it is something I have always wanted to do. After the class I thought I love it but all these light boxes and photo paper, it was all so expensive.
Early this year remember I was raving over Stephanie Lee’s new book “Semiprecious salvage” well I still am, in the book it teaches you how to etch using stazon ink pad and Enchant solution.
Well I’m hooked here are the first samples I did, the top one is just plain brass but it shows what I started with.
Bye for now

Hi guys, I’m finally home well I have been for nearly two weeks now.
I had a fantastic time in America, it was so great to get to spend some time with my American sis Linda and her husband Jim in Coeur D Alene Idaho, Mark and I were living the American dream, beautiful home, food and company.
I had so many packages by the time I got to Linda’s place, I thought it was Christmas LOL.
Here is a piece Linda bought for me a few Christmas ago, but cos' of the size I told her I would pick it up when I was over there it is about one metre, tall and is an old metal stamp this is only part of it.
Linda also had moved this little beauty for me with some of her house moves, an old optical lenses box.
I took over something I made for Linda years ago. Here she is holding it a wool embroidery in 3d it is a daffodil picture which symbolize cancer.
Since I have been home I have been doing some Metal etching I will share with you next blog update.
