Shadow Box

Hi everyone,
I’m back just like a good rash!! you cant get rid of me. This is a piece I made for the Paper Whimsy Forum I’m apart of .It was a doll shadow box swap, I found it a really challenge for me, I used an old cigar box, and of course one of Paper whimsy awesome collage image, and Catherine Moore's awesome collage sheet for the background paper, also I used black gauze for the skirt. She has been posted to my secret sister in the states.

I have to tell you about Azirca a VERY talented New Zealand artist, I came across her blog awhile ago now and her assemblage work is just too die for. Please check out her blog she is an inspiration to me in art and Life
http://speakwithoutmyvoice.blogspot.com/
Her new piece called"The time Lord" Is a feast for the eyes
Have a nice Easter guys

I have discovered you work on Seth's The Altered Page and you have inspired me! I am primarily a mixed-media painter and collage artist, but I have found myself collecting wonderful little pieces of "Junk" for collages. But I haven't had the guts to use them yet! Thanks for sharing your work. I also love the wings on your piece in "Playing Favorites" My work will be shown soon on his site also. Seth's projects are incredible! Roxanne

I just had to tell you how much I love your blog and what you do with all your old stuff. Very great!! Especially anything that has to do with jewelry. I'm 12 and I'm an artist too. I have started a site on ETSY and a blog about my work. I've had a jewelry business for 2 years now. Thanks for inspiring me! It makes me want to ask my Mom if we can go to the swap meet this Saturday. Cambria

what a great piece, Jen. I love the black gauze skirt.

Secret sister???

I agree about azircas work. She is quietly amazing.

Thanks for visiting. I wish I could instantly reply to some peoples comments, but most do not have a return email, like yours. I was due for a visit here anyway.

Everyone I know is at Artfest this week. Pretty quiet out there in blogland. My next assemblage will be a transporter, ala Star Trek, so that I can get together with people like you and we can all play in our studios together.

Have a great and creative day. I'm off to work on Judys book. Or at least try and think about what the hell I'm going to do with my page.

I love this piece Jen - love how you have incorporated the fabrics to be so much a part of the image.

I have nominated you for an award over on my blog if you're passing.;-)
