In this workshop I will take you on a whirl wind ride through the many elements of mixed media.
We will dabble in the wonderful and addictive world of metal etching, resin work, which will include: making your own molds, casting, working with fast and slow setting resin.
We explore the world of book binding to make your own unique journal, adding found objects to the front of the books, learning cold connections using, rivets, wire, brass screws, nails, eyelets, wax linen thread. Learning to torch solder to make our own jewellery or bezel design elements for our books.
Learning to age gracefully on our metals, papers, resin, through paints, patinas, waxes and rusting away.
Students are encouraged to bring their own unique bits n pieces to make this their own creation.  Keep in mind when deciding what to bring, that both jewellery and surface design will be explored through metal, resin techniques. So, any metal materials, found items and paper empherma finds would be perfect to incorporate.
There will be a wide variety of techniques to learn and students can choose many to use and incorporate into their projects throughout the week.
